there is a nuclear war between Russia and China , and much people are dieing now by radiation. the story plays in Melbourne , and the radiation is coming towards the city.
Peter Holmes , lieutenant at the navy of Australia , didn't have work till the navy called
him , and said they have a job free. he can go with a submarine , witch looks for living people in radiation infected places. He will be away from home for five months , and he took the job , leaving his wife and baby alone. after the briefing he will be at home for a week , and he took a marine officer with him his name was Dwight , who lost everything in this war , cause he live in England where the radiation already has arrived. he meet a girl by Peter , called Moira. the next day they go on board of the submarine , and they sailed to a lot of city's , but nobody was still alive. they also saw marine ships , with only dead body’s on board. on the ship he heard why Russia started the war. it was cause Russia would take over China , and this was the only possible way. now can nobody live there , but over ten years there is so less radiation that they can easily take over China. but the Russians didn't have bombed Europe and America , that were Egyptians. and America had bombed Russia by mistake , cause they didn't know it was Egyptian. there weren't many statesmen , cause they died. nobody can stop the war , cause nobody is the boss. and the countries were still bombing other countries. then there came radio signals from a town nears Seattle. Peter has to go there with the submarine , to see who sends them. they think it's a child cause the words aren't spelled correctly. Peter had bought pills , which if you take in , you die. he gives them to his wife , for if the radiation cpmes and he was still on his mission. Then the trip started , and on their way to Seattle they found a small city , and they saw light . They called everyone who was alive with a hailer , and then a men came , but then he run away. They finally arrived in Seattle , and one man can go out the boat in a protective suite , to look were the signals are coming from. He found the transmitting machine , and a window was felt on it , so there were being signals transmitted. He looked everywhere , but he still didn’t find anybody alive. Then their going home , and their got a message that the big boss of the marine had died by the radiation and Dwight had became an admiral. then Dwight got his last appointment , he had to stay with the people who had to repair the scorpion , and help them. the radiation had reached Melbourne now , and halve of the people were sick now. The were spreading pills to die now , and the men of the navy died on their ships when their were sinking. Peter Holmes came at home , and his wife and daughter were already dead. He took a pill and felt in sleep.

Het lijkt me verstandig om een wat duidelijker verhaal te maken en niet constant te wisselen tussen verleden tijd en tegenwoordige tijd.
